Blossoming Into Confidence “Self-Esteem"

I am always amazed at the confidence level of small kids, they don’t fear too much of anything, well maybe the boogeyman hiding in their closet but that's because someone or something, maybe a scary movie introduced them to that fear.
Can you think back on a time when you were a small child, maybe age 4-8, a time that you dared to do anything? Maybe, an experience such as, at the family reunion your mom or dad would make you dance or put on a talent show, and back then you were down for it. Maybe a time, you were eager to get in front of the church and sing or try out for a scene in your school play.
How about now, at age 11-14? How do you feel when your teacher makes you get up and present in front of the class, or what if your parents now ask you to dance at the family reunion? Does your hands become sweaty, a nauseating sense in the pit of your stomach? Could it be because you’ve now a heightened sense of fear and doubt your capabilities?
Do you know what that may be?
I can't believe what I read, "The Confidence Code for Girls" reveals a startling 30% drop in confidence among girls aged 8 to 14, while "The Girls' Index" found that over half of fifth and sixth-grade girls doubt their intelligence for their dream careers.
It's not your fault. There are many things that contribute to the decrease in your self-confidence. It could be from society placing negative labels on your generation or maybe the constant exposure to social media. The good news is, you can learn and include ways in your routine that will help your confidence level to blossom.
The key is to get rid of this idea of perfection - Remember that NO one is perfect - not even the most successful people you admire. We all have flaws and areas where we can improve. Embracing your imperfections and recognizing your growth and development is a much healthier approach.
Focus on the things that you can control - You’re always going to face some sort of obstacle in the way of your goals but think about the things that you can control. Simone Biles went through a period of doubt and mental blocks but she overcame the blocks by focusing on her mindset and finding strategies to manage her mental health.
Despite the immense pressure and expectations placed on her, Biles recognized that she couldn't control everything. Instead, she turned her attention inward, working on her self-talk and cultivating a positive, resilient mindset. She understood that her thoughts and emotions had a powerful influence on her performance, so she made a conscious effort to reframe negative thoughts and replace them with constructive, empowering ones.
